Attorney Hannan joined the Beaver Dam office on October 1, 2000. He practices in the areas of real estate, estate planning, taxation, municipal law, business law, probate, and commercial transactions.
Mr. Hannan was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1972 from Marquette University Law School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1969 from Regis College in Denver, Colorado. He majored in accounting with a minor in economics.
Mr. Hannan has now come full circle in his practice of law. After graduation from Marquette University Law School, he joined the firm of Strub, Woodworth, and O'Connell, the predecessor to this firm. He continued to practice in Beaver Dam throughout this period, most recently as a shareholder in Doepke & Hannan, Chartered until Mr. Doepke's death in February of 2000.
Mr. Hannan is a member of the Wisconsin and Dodge County Bar Associations and the American Bar Association. He has served as president and treasurer of the Dodge County Bar Association.
Mr. Hannan has been an active member of the Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerce, having served on and chaired numerous committees, and having served as treasurer for several terms and as president in 1990. He has served as a member of the Parish Council of St. Michael's congregation (now St. Katharine Drexel) in Beaver Dam, and has taught religious education at St. Michael's. He currently serves on the Ethics Committee of the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. He is also currently on the Dodge County Fair Board.
Mr. Hannan is married to Jorie Hannan and they have four children. Stephen Jr. is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison with a degree in chemical engineering. He currently is an information technology manager with Sentry Insurance Company in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Kathryn (now Bennett) received her master's degree in physical therapy from Marquette University in 1999 and is currently employed as a physical therapist in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a degree in finance and is a financial consultant with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Brian is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a degree in finance. He is a financial planner with Morgan Stanley in Milwaukee.
